Louise Huuki – Temple University (Cross Country & Track)
Major: Biology with a Pre-Med track
Final list of colleges: Temple, Pitt
Reasons for choosing Temple: “I liked that it was a little closer to home, and I really liked the vibe that I got from Temple. The city is going to be such fun next year.”
What was the progression that led you to competing in track at the collegiate level? “When I was a freshman and sophomore, we went to states for cross country, and I ran pretty competitively at districts. I kind of surprised myself. It was like, ‘Wait, I can hang with the big kids.’ Ever since then I’ve been talking to coaches.”
Coach Sam Losorelli: “Louise – four years of cross country and track – left her mark here at East based on her performances, especially in cross country. She went to states in cross country three of the four years. She was part of two league championship teams, which says a lot. She was very much part of the scoring that led our teams to those championships. She’s very nice, she’s dedicated and committed, and we hate to see her go.”
