Alex Jordan – Bucknell University (Football)

Major:  Political Science

Final list of colleges:  Bucknell, Fordham, Holy Cross, Duquesne, Villanova, Delaware, Colgate

Reasons for choosing Bucknell:  “When I stepped on campus – not every school has this, but you instantly feel like family as soon as you get there. It’s got great proximity to home, great football, coach (Joe) Susan is a great guy, and I thought – why not? It seemed like the perfect place.”

What was the progression that led you to playing collegiate football? “I always wanted to play in college. It didn’t get real to me until I was a sophomore and I got my first letter sent to the school. That’s when I started to realize, ‘Okay, I can actually make this happen.’ Then it started heating up a bit.”

Coach John Donnelly says:  “It seems like he’s been here forever. He’s started since he was a freshman for us. He had the body of an 18-year-old when he was 14. Not to say that he didn’t work hard in the weight room because he definitely did, but he finally matured into his body and became a great captain for us this year. This past year he played predominantly offense for us, but he’s projected as a defensive lineman. His strengths are his leverage, his ability to shed blockers, and he’s got great technique. He’s a student of the game, understands the importance of film study but then also applies the techniques through repetition on the field. He’s very technical in his approach to the game.”
“Alex is mature beyond his years and was just a great ambassador for the program. Bucknell University is a great fit for him in the Patriot League where academics are a premium. That’s important to Alex. The head coach – coach Susan is A number 1, and he’s going to be in great hands there. I think it’s going to be a great fit all the way around. We’re really happy for Alex as he moves on to this new chapter in his life. We know he’s going to do a great job.”
