Reasons for choosing Findlay: “Findlay has the best golf program, and even though they’re very far away, I just felt at home right when I got out of the car and visited, so that was the main thing that made me choose Findlay.”
What was the progression that led you to competing in golf at the collegiate level? “I didn’t start playing golf until my freshman year of high school – I was a late bloomer. I played softball forever, and then I decided to switch it up, and I just started taking lessons. After a year and a half, my game changed dramatically, and I was at the point where I was actually pretty good, so I thought – maybe golf is something I could do for the rest of my life. College is the next step, and at the end of my sophomore year, I was like, ‘This is what I’m going to do.’”
Coach Mark Rubino says: “Sarah's potential on the golf course is unlimited. She has already accomplished a great deal, but her talent, her drive, and her love of the game will lead to future success as well. Sarah is not only an exceptional golfer, but an exceptional leader and a great student. She has a maturity and a calmness about her that puts others at ease. It would not surprise me if Sarah became the captain of her team at some point during her college career. I look forward to hearing of Sarah's accomplishments in the classroom and on the golf course at the University of Findlay. Go Oilers!”
