Kate Schlotter – Bloomsburg University (Soccer)

Major:  Pre-Physical Therapy

Final list of colleges:  Bloomsburg, Slippery Rock

Reasons for choosing Bloomsburg:  “Distance-wise, Bloomsburg was closer to home and just very rural and a lot of mountains. I really liked the scenery, and the campus was small and very homey. I had a good relationship with the coach, and he’s really local too. My major is pre-PT, and they have a good major for that too.”

What was the progression that led you to competing in soccer at the collegiate level?  “I started playing soccer when I was five, so I couldn’t see myself living without the sport. It helped through academics, school and everything, so I definitely wanted to continue it collegiately.”

Coach Paul Eisold says:  “Kate Schlotter was part of a championship team that went to the (state) final. She knew what it took. She knew how hard it was to play every day, 18 games plus districts plus states. It doesn’t mean you’re successful just because you know it, but she knew what it took. She was a starter since her freshman year. She had some moments and some big goals over the years and is just a player we’re going to miss.”
