CB South Duo to Compete in Track at Collegiate Level

On Thursday, March 2, 2023, Central Bucks South seniors Zoe Levesque-Petsch & Julia Pye were recognized for committing to continue their track careers at the collegiate level.

Zoe Levesque-Petsch – York College (Track & Field)
Major:
Mechanical Engineering
Final list of colleges: York, Lafayette, a Penn State satellite school
Reasons for choosing York: “It’s not an inner city school, it’s a smaller school, which I wanted, and the coach is really nice.”
What was the progression that led you to competing in track at the collegiate level?  “Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve always wanted to run. To get the opportunity to now run in college and continue is a really big thing for me.”
Coach Jason Gable says: “Zoe is attending York College for track and field. She has been on the track team her whole high school career. She is a very hard worker. Zoe is one of our short sprinters in the 100 and 200. She’s a born track athlete. Zoe has been doing track since she was in elementary school both in club and then here at South. Throughout the years, she’s had to struggle through some injuries and bounced back mid-season to try and get into shape. Zoe is one of the top girls on the team both by example and leadership. Zoe is excited to compete at York College.”

Julia Pye – Dartmouth College (Track & Field/Cross Country)
Major:
Biomedical Engineering
Final list of colleges: Dartmouth, MIT, Brown, Yale
Reasons for choosing Dartmouth: “It was a really great fit for me academically. On top of that, I loved how progress oriented their track program was. Their coach recognized I had made a lot of progress throughout high school. She convinced me she could be a major part of my progress when I get there.”
What was the progression that led you to competing in track and cross country at the collegiate level? “It was a real easy decision for me just because I love to run, and I love to compete. I’m not ready to give that up yet. Just being able to run and compete with girls who also have the same passions as me is a bonus.”
Coach Loretto Fantini says: “Julia Pye was a four-year varsity athlete for indoor and outdoor track. She will be attending Dartmouth College in the fall. Julia’s been a great athlete for four years. She started freshman year as a sprinter and transitioned over to the distance team after her freshman year. She was a six-time state medalist, and she’s also been a state champion in the DMR after her junior year. She’s been one of the hardest workers we’ve had on the track team since the day she got here. She’s always willing to put in extra work and train as hard as she can every day. She trains hard and makes sure she’s on top of her nutrition and rest and every aspect that goes into being a competitive top athlete.”
