Connor Bethel – Chestnut Hill College (Soccer)
Major:
Business Management & Administration
Final list of colleges:  Chestnut Hill, West Chester, La Salle, Scranton
Reasons for choosing Chestnut Hill:  “When I went there, I felt at home. The coach helped me through the process a lot, which made it a lot easier going there. The campus is beautiful, and I was looking for a smaller school, and they really offered that for me.”
What was the progression that you to playing soccer at the collegiate level?  “Since a young age when I first started playing, the goal always was to play in college, and that was always my dream. I didn’t know if it would really play out that way, but then in ninth and 10th grade when I started getting in contact with coaches and going to camps, it started becoming a reality that I was going to be able to play.”
Coach Don Brady says:  “Connor had an awesome senior year as a holding midfield defender. He came off a summer where he was playing with me at ODP (Olympic Development Program) and had an awesome summer there. We won our Region 1 Tournament, and he just continued to grow. We couldn’t take him off the field. He’s a calm player, he holds the ball well, he distributes well, and he scored a few goals for us. From that position, that’s hard to do.”

Ian Betts – Penn State Behrend (Soccer)

Final list of colleges:  Penn State Behrend, Bloomsburg, Penn State Abington
Reasons for choosing Penn State Behrend:  “I did an overnight visit to Penn State Behrend, and I met some of the guys on the team, got to see a lot of the campus. I also visited Bloomsburg and Penn State Abington, but it seemed that Behrend was a better fit for me.”
What was the progression that led you to playing soccer at the collegiate level?  “Ever since I’ve been playing soccer, I just really enjoy it, and I want it to be a part of my life as long as I can be.”
Coach Don Brady says:  “Ian was our center back. He’s extremely fast and strong. He tackles well and was a real anchor for us in the back. At times, he’ll push forward and go from box to box.”

Favorite food:

Favorite movie:  Gladiator
Favorite music:  Classic Rock

Billy Gorman – Penn State Abington (Soccer)
Major:
Health Administration
Final list of colleges:  Penn State Abington, Scranton, Temple, West Chester, Delaware
Reasons for choosing Penn State Abington:  “My dream was always to play college soccer from the start. Coming up towards the end of my senior year, my parents said, ‘Do you still want to play soccer in college?’ They took me to a couple of camps. I visited a couple of schools, and I just had a really good connection with the coach at Penn State Abington – coach David Castellanos. He made the decision making process really easy. He stayed in constant communication with me, which I didn’t get from other coaches. When it came time to make a decision in March and April, I had to see where I stood financially. It was a no brainer to go there. It just fit.”
What was the progression that led you to playing soccer at the collegiate level?  “I always grew up wanting to play college soccer, and throughout high school, it was kind of shaky because I was on jayvee my first two years. By the end of my senior year, I broke through and made big strides in my game. Coaches started looking at me, and by March and April, it was like – I have an offer. I’m going to take it.”
Coach Don Brady says:  “Billy – who was one of our goalkeepers - had a really strong year. He’s a really strong leader. Ian (Betts) and Billy were our co-captains. Billy shared the job with his cousin. He provided real strong leadership on and off the field, which is something our team needed. He’s constantly talking and communicating.”
