CB South's Bendziowicz to Play Softball at Saint Peter's

On Thursday, Nov. 9, 2023, Central Bucks South senior Steph Bendziowicz was recognized for committing to continue her softball career at Saint Peter’s University.

Steph Bendziowicz – Saint Peter’s University (Softball)

Major: Exercise Science

Final list of colleges: Saint Peter’s, Mount St. Mary’s, Rider, West Chester

Reasons for choosing Saint Peter’s:  “It felt so homey, and everyone was so welcoming – the players, the coaches. I just love the environment.”

What was the progression that led you to competing in softball at the collegiate level? “I’ve played softball since I was four, and my older brothers played baseball, so I just wanted to be like them. I always wanted to play in college.”

Coach Kevin Rosini says: “Steph’s work ethic – especially the last couple of years – has been off the chart. She got injured at the start of last season last spring when we were in Myrtle Beach. She broke her thumb and missed the first quarter of the season. The work she showed and the teammate she was and just her overall attitude – she ended up being one of the best players we had all season. She played third base for us. The three-run triple she had in Quakertown in the playoffs was probably the biggest hit of our lives. She’s just such a wonderful kid, such a great heart. She’ll do anything for anybody. I couldn’t be any more proud of her. She’s amazing.”

Coach Matt McLaughlin says  – “The way Steph ended last season was incredible. She carried that into this fall where she just literally took a leadership position for the younger players who are coming up and has been an incredible influence on the rest of the younger girls. I think her number one attribute is her leadership and her willingness to lead and show the freshmen what good looks like. She’s well on her way, and St. Peter’s is lucky to have her. I’m looking forward to working with her one final season.
