Mike Anastasia – New Jersey Institute of Technology (Baseball)
Major:
Computer Science
Final list of colleges:  NJIT, Lafayette, Georgetown, Columbia
Reasons for choosing NJIT:  “I really liked the campus a lot. I liked the coaching staff, I liked the facilities, and I just felt like I belonged there when I went to the campus and saw the dorm.”
What was the progression that led you to playing collegiate baseball?  “It’s always been something I wanted to do. When I got to the high school level and some of my friends’ older brothers and kids I had played with before started going to college, it started to be something I would look into. I started working for it.”
Coach Mike Schaefer says:  “Mike was our starting centerfielder last year and pretty much played every inning there. He’s a good left-handed bat, he runs well. He was a kid that kind of was a converted outfielder. He was an infielder early on and then he switched to the outfield position, which, to me, was his bread and butter spot. He patrols the outfield very well. He has good speed, and he’s a guy that’s a good teammate. He has a lot of energy and works very hard.”

Favorite movie:  American Sniper
Favorite music:  Zac Brown Band

Zach Dennis – Gwynedd Mercy College (Baseball)
Major:
Accounting
Final list of colleges:  Gwynedd Mercy, New Paltz, Arcadia
Reasons for choosing Gwynedd Mercy:  “I took my visit, and I met all the coaches. They were wonderful people. They have a very good baseball program, and they are very good academically, so that was a big factor.”
What was the progression that led you to playing collegiate baseball?  “I didn’t start playing baseball until I was a little older. My coaches got me to really love the game, and my junior summer it really started to take off. I started doing really good in tournaments, and I thought, ‘I want to do this when I go to college.’”
Coach Mike Schaefer says:  “Zach was pretty much a standout as a sophomore on the jayvee team for us. We saw good things from him. Last year, he was in more of a leadership role for us. He’s the epitome of a team guy. Whether he’s on the field or not on the field, he’s a guy that makes everybody else better. His brother Ricky was here last year, and he got a scholarship to Monmouth. He has a good lineage, good blood lines, and I know he’ll have a lot of success at Gwynedd Mercy.”
