Mackenzie Edwards – University of Pittsburgh (Soccer)

Major:  Business

Final list of colleges:  Pitt, Boston University, Saint Joseph’s

Reasons for choosing Pitt: “Honestly, I did not imagine myself going five hours away, but once I went and visited the campus, it was so impressive. There was just no other place I could see myself at.”

What was the progression that led you to competing in soccer at the collegiate level?  “Since I was little, I always had the love for the game. I could not picture myself not playing in college.”

Coach Betsy Bullock says: “Mackenzie Edwards was really an impact player on the team. She was team captain. She basically took the team on her back after our other leading scorer, Brooke Steigerwalt, went out with an ACL injury. She’s tenacious, she’s hard working, she’s everything you’d ask for in a captain and more. She was the assist leader which says a great deal about her unselfishness and her whole team approach. She was a pleasure to coach. She’ll be very successful at the University of Pittsburgh.”
