Taylor Marinelli – St. Joseph’s University (Softball)

Major: Actuarial Sciences

Final list of colleges:  St. Joe’s, La Salle, Monmouth, Longwood, Coastal Carolina

Reasons for choosing St. Joe’s:  “As soon as I stepped on the campus, it was one of those feelings – I want to go here so bad. I was determined to go there. I just loved how close it is to the city, all the girls on the team made me feel so welcome when I visited, and the coach is just a great person.”

What was the progression that led you to competing in softball at the collegiate level?  “When I little, I played soccer and softball, but I ended up pursuing softball at a little higher level because I enjoyed that more. I was more comfortable playing that, and I wanted to follow in my sister’s footsteps. Playing Division One softball has always been my dream.”

Coach Dan Hayes says:  “Taylor will be a four-year starter, and she was one of those kids who would do anything for you, play anywhere. People forget she played left field her freshman year. She can play both corners, and catching might be her best position, and she didn’t play it at all. She’s just such a good all-around player. She can hit – that’s why she was playing left field as a freshman. We needed her bat. She’s a great leader, a great kid, and an excellent student. She’s just the whole package.”
