CB South's Sautner to Continue Lacrosse Career at Catawba

On Friday, Feb. 9, 2018, Central Bucks South senior Bobby Sautner was recognized for committing to continue his lacrosse career at Catawba College.

Bobby Sautner – Catawba College (Lacrosse)

Major:  Business

Final list of colleges:  Catawba, Washington & Jefferson, Albright

Reasons for choosing Catawba:  “The family feeling there –it’s just such a great feeling. You always have that chemistry. The guys make you feel great, and the program is amazing.”

What was the progression that led you to competing in lacrosse at the collegiate level?  “Freshman year I was kind of up in the air if I wanted to play or not. After that season on my travel team, my coach recommended it to me because I was playing out of my mind. I thought about it, and I chose from there, and it was just an incline.”

CB South lacrosse coach Mike Strayline says:  “Bobby will be our goalie this year. He has an amazing attitude, and he’s a great player. He was just stuck behind a senior and didn’t get a lot of opportunities last year, but this year he’s going to get his opportunity to shine. He takes up a lot of the net – he’s a big kid, and he’s got good hands. He sees the field, he’s athletic, he does all the little things, and he’s playing smart so that’s the key. Other coaches helped him along the way and helped him get where he’s at today.”

Goalie coach Niko Amato says: “Bobby is very coachable, he’s fearless, and his size is an intangible you can’t really teach. He’s really dedicated and loves the sport. Any time you step in the crease as a goalie, you have to really want to do your best and be an ultimate team player and really have a passion for the game, which I think he does, and it shows every time he’s out on the field.”
