Kelliann Bolash – Gettysburg College (Soccer)
Major:
Political Science
Final list of colleges:  Gettysburg, Marymount, Florida Southern
Reasons for choosing Gettysburg:  “It’s closer to home – the other schools are farther away. I want a really small campus, and they have a really small campus. I went to a few camps, and the coach was big on everyone being together and coming together as a family. I felt really good there.”
What was the progression that led you to playing soccer at the collegiate level?  “I started thinking about it in ninth and 10th grade because I started to become more competitive with it, and I started going to more training.”
Coach Betsy Bullock says:  “Kelliann was our backup keeper who ended up evolving into the starting position because of an injury to our starting keeper. She was phenomenal. I can’t say enough about her in terms of being a hard working team player. She was the one in there when we beat undefeated Pennridge. She became the leader also on the field and ended up helping us advance to the second round of the district playoffs.
“She had all the technical and tactical part of the game down, but it was really her attitude (that set her apart) because a lot of backup keepers could get angry and frustrated if they’re not starting. She just decided to work hard, and it worked out for her. She ended up in some very critical spots for us.”
About Kelliann:

Pizza
Favorite movie:  Anything scary – Nightmare on Elm Street

Jessica Volm – St. Joseph University (Soccer)
Major:
Undecided
Final list of colleges:  St. Joe’s, Loyola
Reasons for choosing St. Joe’s:  “I was always set on St. Joe’s. When I went to St. Joe’s, I liked all the girls, and the coach was so nice. I just liked the campus – I think it’s so pretty, and I like city schools also.”
What was the progression that led you to playing soccer at the collegiate level?  “My sister plays in college, so I always had that mentality. I saw what she was doing. She loved it, so when I started getting more competitive, I started loving the sport too, and I wanted to continue that in my college.”

Coach Betsy Bullock says:  “Jessica was our captain and a three-year starter. She was first team all-league. She played center midfield and basically was the general for us. She controlled the middle of the field. She was a leader on the team, she was very good at distributing passes as well as finishing. She’s just a true team player.”
