Jake Boehm – Lock Haven University (Baseball)

Major:  Undecided

Final list of colleges:  Lock Haven, Arcadia, Towson

Reasons for choosing Lock Haven:  “I decided on Lock Haven because I liked the scenery, I liked the baseball field, and they have a lot of options for majors.”

What was the progression that led you to competing in baseball at the collegiate level?  “I didn’t know if I wanted to play, but I had a friend who got me to play for another AAU team, and it pretty much escalated from there. That’s where they found me.”

Coach Tony Crecca says:  “Jake Boehm was a three-year varsity letter winner for the West baseball team. His biggest win senior year came at home against CB East. Jake also pitches for one of the top AAU teams in the area, the Philadelphia Angels. He was also a varsity ice hockey player for CB West and was one of the Bucks’ hockey captains as a senior.
“Jake led the West pitching staff in games started and innings pitched.  During his varsity career with the Bucks, he demonstrated a toughness and durability, which was particularly crucial last spring when injuries decimated the West lineup. Not only did Jake take the ball every time asked, but he also filled in at first base where he played solid defense and batted leadoff in several games.  His tough ‘hockey mindset’ makes him a fierce competitor.”
