On Thursday, Nov. 16, 2023, Jimmy Donnelly & Matt Jacobsen were recognized for committing to compete in lacrosse at the collegiate level.

Jimmy Donnelly – Holy Family University (Lacrosse)
Major:
Radiology
Final list of colleges: Holy Family, Lebanon Valley
Reasons for choosing Holy Family: “I really liked the coaches, and because the lacrosse program is new, I liked the idea of building a culture.”
What was the progression that led you to competing in lacrosse at the collegiate level? “My whole life I always wanted to play a sport at the next level, and I did well in lacrosse, and it just kind of happened.”
Coach Matt Coverdale says: “Jimmy Donnelly is a senior close defenseman. He has been a very steady presence in our defense. He’s a great physical defender. Last season, we always chose our most physical matchup in the attack line and gave it to Jimmy. He did a great job on some key matchups for us that made us very competitive last season on the defensive end. He’s a good communicator, and he’s a fiery, passionate competitor. I think the opportunity at Holy Family will be a great one for him to make an early impact and have a rewarding experience.”

Matt Jacobsen – University of Richmond (Lacrosse)

Final list of colleges: Richmond, St. Joseph’s, Drexel, West Point
Reasons for choosing Richmond: “The coaches were just really serious, and it was a competitive environment I wanted to be part of.”
What was the progression that led you to competing in lacrosse at the collegiate level? “I started thinking about playing in college freshman year when I was able to play varsity. The recruiting started sophomore summer.”
Coach Matt Coverdale says: “Matt Jacobsen is a senior midfielder who will be going to Richmond University. Matt is, without a doubt, potentially the most gifted player to come through Central Bucks West. Matt is a complete offensive player with vision, physicality, accuracy in shooting and an off-the-charts IQ on the field. Matt will graduate with almost every face-off record at Central Bucks West for individual seasons and collective career. He is one the two All-Americans that we have graduated, and he accomplished it as a junior. Matt will be a central focus of our success this season.”
