Abby Morrison – West Chester University (Softball)

Major:  Athletic Training to pursue career in Physical Therapy

Final list of colleges:  West Chester, Pitt-Johnstown, Ithaca

Reasons for choosing West Chester:  “I really liked the campus – it’s a perfect size for me. I know people that go there who love it, so I just felt more comfortable with this decision. I get along well with the coach, so it was a good choice for me.”

What was the progression that led you to competing in softball at the collegiate level?  “I started thinking about it towards the ends of my sophomore year toward the beginning of my junior year.”

Coach Geoff Thompson says:  “Abby was a four-year starter at shortstop. She was a captain this year, and she did a nice job leading the team. She was an excellent fielder at shortstop. She amazed me with some of the plays she pulled off. As a hitter, she was our two or three hitter. She’s just a good all-around player as well as a leader. All the girls looked up to her.”
