John McCreary – Gwynedd Mercy University (Lacrosse)
Major:
Business
Final list of colleges:  Gwynedd Mercy, Marywood
Reasons for choosing Gwynedd Mercy:  “First I was considering Marywood University. They saw me play at a few tournaments over the summer, and they reached out to me. The Gwynedd Mercy assistant coach was actually my summer coach, and he reached out to me at the end of the season and said I was going to get a recruitment letter from them. I was really honored by that. I went on an overnight, and I really liked it. I spent the day going to classes with some of the guys. After that, I really saw myself going there for the next four years, and that’s why I chose Gwynedd Mercy.”
What was the progression that led you to competing in lacrosse at the collegiate level?  “I started playing lacrosse in third grade. I was playing football, basketball and soccer, but I fell in love with lacrosse and I gave everything up to play lacrosse. When I started playing summer lacrosse, my coaches made me feel as though I could do this at the next level, so that’s when I decided to pursue and try to play Division III lacrosse.”
Coach Matt Coverdale says:  “John McCreary is a tough-as-nails midfielder. He has an outstanding quick shot from the perimeter and is tough-nosed in all midfield situations from ground balls to dodging. He was a key contributor to our success this year. He developed into one of our bigger threats in the midfield, and we couldn’t be more happy to see him continue his career next year at Gwynedd Mercy.”

Joey Rockovich – The Catholic University of America (Lacrosse)
Major:
Finance
Final list of colleges:  Catholic, Furman, Dickinson, Mount St. Mary’s, Cabrini
Reasons for choosing Catholic:  “I chose Catholic because of the great (Washington) D.C. area. I just really loved the coaches and the team, and the campus was really nice as well.”
What was the progression that led you to competing in lacrosse at the collegiate level?  “I have always loved lacrosse. It’s been my favorite sport. I’ve been playing since I was really little, and I knew I wanted to play in college, so it’s like a dream that I can finally play in college, and I’m really excited.”
Coach Matt Coverdale says:  “Joey Rockovich is a special player. In his junior year, he managed to break the single season goals record held at Central Bucks West since 2009, and this year, he broke the career goals record as well as the career points record at Central Bucks West. He has evolved as a player, not only as a dynamic scorer from all kinds of locations on the field. He also has developed a game to assist and create plays for his teammates to capitalize on. He has a tenacious attitude about working on the field, and anytime he doesn’t achieve success, he works that much harder and with that much more passion in order to achieve and help his team. He’s a great character young man, and we couldn’t be more proud of his efforts. I’m glad to see him continuing his lacrosse career at The Catholic University of America.”
