Abbey Spratt – Chestnut Hill College (Basketball)

Major:  Undecided

Final list of colleges:  Chestnut Hill, Moravian, Albright, Alvernia, Arcardia, Cabrini

Reasons for choosing Chestnut Hill:  “I picked Chestnut Hill because I loved the location in Philly. It’s a small school, and I think that’s perfect for me in the classroom setting especially. I fell in love with the coach and the way he coaches. When they offered me a scholarship, I thought it was a no-brainer to take it.”

What was the progression that led you to competing in basketball at the collegiate level?  “I couldn’t imagine playing my last game as a senior in high school. I want to keep going as long as I can.
“I got hurt my junior year – I tore my labrum, so I didn’t play AAU. Pretty much the beginning of senior year when I was getting e-mails and going on my overnight visits is when it became – this is real, I need to pick a school.”

Coach Terry Rakowsky says: “Abbey hustles, and she was the heart and soul of the team. She’s a leader on the court. She’s still struggling with her shoulder, but she won’t let anyone know that. She’s a battler.”
