CB West's Tarin Morris Commits to Play Soccer at La Salle

On Friday, Feb. 9, 2018, Central Bucks West senior Tarin Morris was recognized for committing to continue his soccer career at La Salle University.

Tarin Morris – La Salle University (Soccer)

Major: Undecided

Final list of colleges: La Salle, Muhlenberg, Elizabethtown, Lafayette

Reasons for choosing La Salle:  “I went through the recruiting process. I was having a little bit of difficulty finding the right school, the right fit for me. Actually, one of our West soccer coaches, Bob Horst, told the La Salle coach about me, and the soccer coach reached out to me. I really wasn’t interested at first, but I eventually got talking to him and then I went up for a visit. I liked it better than any other school, and I thought I could fit in well there. They have a really good soccer program, good academics, and I really thought it all came together when I went on my visit.”

What was the progression that led you to competing in soccer at the collegiate level?  “I always knew I wanted to play in college. The level – I had no idea until junior/senior year when you actually start looking at colleges. I was always in between D-III and D-I, and when La Salle came along, I decided on D-I.”

Coach Stefan Szygiel says:  “During the season, we didn’t really talk about the next step. We knew he would play in college -that was his desire. I think La Salle is a great fit for him. He’s able to stay close to home, he’s able to play at the Division I level and show if he’s able to continue to grow at that level. Obviously, my coaching staff and I think he certainly will.
“Tarin was able to reap some of the benefits of what our team did last fall, and he deserved it. To me, it still goes back to his evolution when he came to us as a ninth grader. Watching him move up the field each year into a bigger, more prominent attacking role – to me, his best attribute is his coachability, his willingness and desire to be versatile within whatever tactically a coach is looking for. That’s always what’s been so great about Tarin, knowing that we’re able to move him around the field. The versatility to me has always been key.”
