BASEBALL
West Chester’s Tyler Coleman (Quakertown) was named to the 2013 PSAC Academic Honor Roll. In order to earn scholar-athlete recognition, a student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or above.

WOMEN’S CROSS COUNTRY
West Chester’s Jules Connelly (Souderton) was named to the 2013 PSAC Academic Honor Roll. In order to earn scholar-athlete recognition, a student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or above.

FIELD HOCKEY
West Chester’s Courtney Wolff (Pennridge) was named to the 2013 PSAC Academic Honor Roll. In order to earn scholar-athlete recognition, a student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or above.

FOOTBALL
West Chester’s Rich Bruno (Council Rock South) was named to the 2013 PSAC Academic Honor Roll. In order to earn scholar-athlete recognition, a student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or above.

MEN’S LACROSSE
Brett Schmidt (Upper Dublin)
was one of 38 players selected to participate in the 2013 Major League Lacrosse All-Star game on July 13 at American Legion Memorial Stadium in Charlotte, N.C. Schmidt is a member of the Charlotte Hounds. Participants for the all-star game are selected through a balloting process by the coaches and general managers from each of the league’s eight teams. Schmidt, a third-year player out of Maryland, is making his MLL All-Star Game debut. He has been an anchor of the Hounds’ defense, leading the defense with 26 groundballs over eight games. The long pole also has put up two points with a goal in Week 4 and an assist in Week 2. “It’s an honor to be picked and even associated with all of the other great players that were chosen to be a part of the MLL All-Star Game,” Schmidt said in a news release on the Charlotte Hounds web site. “Being able to play in front of the home crowd in Charlotte will be awesome. They have been such great supporters of the Hounds since our inception last year, and we are excited to be able to bring them a fun weekend of great lacrosse.”
In four years at Maryland, Schmidt played in 63 games, collecting 127 groundballs to go with 79 forced turnovers. The defenseman served as team captain in his senior season and also was honored that year as All-ACC and ISILA Second Team All-American. As a junior in 2010, Schmidt was named All-ACC and USILA Third Team All-American while also earning the Decker-Silber award as the Terps’ top defenseman.

WOMEN’S SOCCER
West Chester’s Cara Deola (Council Rock South) and Carly Yost (North Penn) were named to the 2013 PSAC Academic Honor Roll. In order to earn scholar-athlete recognition, a student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or above.

SOFTBALL
West Chester’s Jessica Schuck (Council Rock South), Kim Begley (Abington), Megan Kelly (Hatboro-Horsham) and Melissa Spinosa (Hatboro-Horsham) were named to the 2013 PSAC Academic Honor Roll. In order to earn scholar-athlete recognition, a student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or above.

MEN’S SWIMMING & DIVING
West Chester’s Calvin Starosta (Upper Dublin) and Connor Forlini (William Tennent) were named to the 2013 PSAC Academic Honor Roll. In order to earn scholar-athlete recognition, a student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or above.
