Tommie Dillione – Penn State University (Swimming)

Major:  Undecided

Final list of colleges:  Penn State, University of North Carolina, Duke

Reasons for choosing Penn State:  “After I went to Penn State, it was kind of the end for me. I knew – I got a feel, and nothing else really compared to it. Just the atmosphere and the whole camaraderie with the school and the football game – it was awesome.”

What was the progression that led you to swim at the collegiate level?  “Ever since I started swimming, I have been pretty serious about it, and I knew I wanted to keep doing it. I can’t see myself stopping. I probably will want to keep going even after college is over.”

Assistant coach Ginna Lewing:  “Tommie is one of the top swimmers, certainly in our conference and absolutely in our district. She had a really good district (showing) and won both of her events individually. She repeated from last year, which was a nice thing for her to do. I think she’s going to be really, really successful at the college level. The best thing about her is she really loves the sport and wants to get better on a daily basis. She works really hard to improve and has a lot of big goals set for herself, and she always wants to try and hit those marks which is a great attribute and speaks of her character.”
