Connor Macaulay – Lafayette College (Baseball)
Major:
Economics
Final list of colleges:  Lafayette, Villanova, Bucknell, Dartmouth
Reasons for choosing Lafayette:  “Very good academically, and I have a chance to earn a spot freshman year.”
What was the progression that led you to competing in baseball at the collegiate level?  “I have always wanted to play college baseball. I started going to camps in eighth grade and always played on very competitive teams, the Diamond Jacks and Philly Bandits. My coach, Dave Amaro, also played a vital role in my attending college for baseball. He put me in the right situations and spoke on my behalf, which helped allow me to have this opportunity.”
Coach Ted Kirner says:  “Connor was a three-year starter at the varsity level at Council Rock South, and the last two years, I believe he was the best catcher in the league, at least defensively. I think Lafayette is pretty privileged to get a guy like that. He’s a very smart catcher. He understands the game very well. He’s the kind of catcher that’s going to get his pitchers 10 extra strikes a game whereas a subpar catcher will maybe let the ball drop or fall out of the zone. He has an awareness and a poise to him that he can handle the pressure, and he’s going to do well at the collegiate level. He has a good head on his shoulders, he’s going to a very strong academic school, and I think he’s going to peak in college, which is a testament to his work ethic.”

Jordan Silverman – Rider University (Baseball)
Major:
Communications
Final list of colleges:  Rider, La Salle
Reasons for choosing Rider:  “Location was convenient, and they had what I want academically.”
What was the progression that led you to playing baseball at the collegiate level?  “I’ve always wanted to play baseball at the collegiate level. The process began for me when I started playing for the Philly Bandits during the summer going into my junior year.”
Coach Ted Kirner says: “I think Jordan also is doing to do well at Rider. They’re going to have to figure out his role for him – whether he’s going to make a strong case to be a weekend starter eventually or is he going to be a crafty lefty out of the bullpen. He’s got a good head on his shoulders too as far as being a good teammate and being able to adapt and do whatever the team needs to help them win. Get ahead early in the count, and success will follow.”
