Nick Gallo – Virginia Tech (Football)

Major:  Business

Final list of colleges:  Virginia Tech, North Carolina, Duke, Maryland

Reasons for choosing Virginia Tech:  “I chose Virginia Tech for its elite academics and football program. It was one of the first schools to offer me. It was kind of nice being down there so many times for my brother (Eric Gallo), and I was so comfortable with the program. I knew a lot of information about the school. It was kind of easy because they offered first to filter through every other school through the eyes of already seeing Virginia Tech. At the end of the day, I didn’t feel like any school matched how comfortable I felt on campus at Virginia Tech.”

What was the progression that led you to competing in football at the collegiate level?  “I observed and watched as both of my brothers went through the recruiting process. Around sophomore year when I started attending college camps was the beginning of my process.”

Coach Vince Bedesem says:  “Athletically, I could go on and on and on about Chase (Patterson) and Nick (Gallo). People and family – that’s more important to me than anything I could say about wins and losses and awards. When they walk in these hallways, you can see the pride in them as far as the name on the back and the name on the front. Nick and I have had a very special relationship throughout our years here. He was a four-year starter and early committed. I think we knew all along (where he would go). We did our due diligence, mom and dad did their due diligence. Even though he’s following (his brother) to Virginia Tech, I still think because of that basis (his parents) sitting next to him that Virginia Tech is going to be the right choice for him and it’s going to be for him. He’s going to be for Virginia Tech like he’s for Council Rock South. (He is) going to be sadly missed. I’m extremely proud of both boys.”
