Daniella Masone – University of the Sciences (Track & Field)

Major:  Physical Therapy program

Final list of colleges:  USciences, Lebanon Valley, Shenandoah, St. Francis

Reasons for choosing USciences:  “I liked how the campus itself was quiet, but it was in the city next to other colleges. I also was looking for a direct (six-year) doctorate physical therapy program, and USciences is known for theirs.”

What was the progression that led you to continuing your track and field career at the collegiate level?  “I have been running track and field since I was little (first grade), so it is something as a little girl I had always wanted to do. I also wanted to run in Penn Relays from fourth grade through college, so running at USciences is going to help me accomplish my goal. Track has helped me become a leader, have time management and has been my outlet/safe place. Running in college is going to help me continue to succeed and balance doing a sport that I love while learning for my future.”

Coach Deric Lynch says:  “Daniella was primarily a 200-meter runner and one of our anchor legs of the 4x100, but it would not surprise me to see her become a 400-meter runner in college. Daniella’s strength was her work ethic and her ability to be coachable. She is a coach’s dream, and she is a good leader as well as someone who is willing to listen and apply it to what they do.”
