Tori Wright – La Salle University (Field Hockey)

Major:  Business

Final list of colleges:  La Salle, Lehigh, Monmouth, Villanova

Reasons for choosing La Salle:  “As soon as I stepped onto the campus at La Salle, I was treated like family. The coaches and players made me feel very comfortable, and I knew right away that I liked the atmosphere. I know I will be challenged academically and hope to make an impact on the field hockey team right away. Plus, La Salle is close to home, so my family can come to most of my games.”

What was the progression that led you to competing in field hockey at the collegiate level?  “I started thinking about playing in college at the end of ninth grade field hockey season. I started varsity that year, and field hockey became a significant part of my life. I started attending clinics at schools, college showcases and recruiting camps until I finally decided to commit to La Salle in March of my junior year.”

Coach Lisa Belz says:  “Tori came in as a ninth grader and started every game, played every game for four years. Her commitment, her dedication – she didn’t leave anything on the field. She came out of here as an all-state player and player of the year. She’s just what every coach wants on their team. She was coachable, she made changes when necessary, and she put her all in. She’s a great leader. She left a footprint for kids to fill. They now have something to look up to and try to emulate, and that’s good for the next four years because the girls will remember her and try to live up to what she did.”
