John Dubyk – West Chester University (Football)

Major:  Biology

Final list of colleges:  West Chester, Monmouth, Bryant, Shippensburg

Reasons for choosing West Chester:  “I was looking for a college that was close to home and was very good academically. Also, a school where the football team has a great tradition. West Chester has great academics, great coaches, and it is close to home.”

High school accomplishments:  First team All-Suburban One Continental (Tight End/Defensive End), Second team All-Suburban One Continental (Punter), First team All-Intelligencer (Defensive End), Second team All-Southeastern Pennsylvania (Defensive End/Tight End), Honor Roll

Coach Randy Cuthbert says:  “John was a three-year starter who played tight end and D-end for us. He was first team all-league the last two years at D-end. I think everyone ran away from him. He was a very physical player, he was very vocal, and he had a great year for us on both sides of the ball, but defensively, he was just a stud. He’s the best defensive end that I’ve had in my coaching days. He was a special player. He was the total package. When I think of him, I think of the Pennsbury game and how Pennsbury kept running at him – probably the only team that did that all year, and he made them pay for it. He was great.”
