Reasons for choosing East Stroudsburg: “I really liked the campus. It wasn’t too big, and it wasn’t too small. All the girls on the basketball team were really nice.”
What was the progression that led you to playing collegiate basketball? “I started thinking about playing in college through AAU and getting college coaches interested in me. Just thinking about it – I love playing basketball, and I always wanted to continue.”
Coach Beth Mattern says: “Rachel has a great basketball IQ. She can shoot, she can drive, and she knows how to defend. I think she’s making a great decision going to East Stroudsburg, and I think they’re really lucky to have her because she’s been a great steady force for us the last three years.
“Rachel’s a hard worker. She keeps things to herself a lot, but she puts so much into everything she does and wants to do the best she can, especially on the court. It really comes out sometimes when she’s willing to take that last shot.”
