“I ask them to represent the community, I ask them to represent the school, I ask them to represent their parents, I ask them to represent me as a coach, and all four of these guys have epitomized what I think a student-athlete is at the school,” William Tennent Coach Rick Penecale said.

Vinny Case – Alvernia Universitiy (Baseball)
Major:
Undecided
Final list of colleges:  Alvernia, Philly U, Neumann, St. Bonaventure, West Chester
Reasons for choosing Alvernia:  “It fit me well, and I felt comfortable there. The location was great – it wasn’t too far nor was it too close.”
What was the progression that led you to playing collegiate baseball?  “I thought about playing college ball since the day I stepped on the field. It was always a dream and goal of mine, and I am blessed it came true. The recruiting process started my freshman year when I play in the SOL and also in many tournaments.”
Coach Rick Penecale says:  “The first thing about Vinny is his athletic ability. That’s the first thing that gets your attention. Once you get beyond that – he’s all about the team, he cares about winning and taking this team into the playoffs. He’s one of those guys who’s a senior and sets an example for the younger guys.”

Grandmom’s homemade Italian dinner
Favorite movie:  Stepbrothers
Favorite music:  Country

Jeremy Hefele – Delaware Valley College (Baseball)
Major:
Business Administration
Final list of colleges:  Delaware Valley, Lebanon Valley
Reasons for choosing Delaware Valley:  “The coaching staff, the teachers for my major, and it’s not too far from home.”
What was the progression that led you to playing collegiate baseball?  “I wanted to play in college since I entered high school. The recruiting process started the summer after my junior year.”
Coach Rick Penecale says:  “Jeremy is a kid who’s worked hard to get to where he’s at. Throughout the whole offseason, he’s been the one that’s been in the weight room, he’s the one who’s here every night. On cold days in January when nobody else wanted to be here, Jeremy was here. He worked himself to become our number one pitcher. He has good command – he’s not overly powerful, but he hits his spots, he makes teams put the ball in play.”
About Jeremy:
Favorite food:
Chicken Parmesan
Favorite movie:  Warrior
Favorite music:  Rock

Brett Kozlowski – Bloomsburg University (Baseball)
Major:
Undecided
Final list of colleges:  Bloomsburg, Gwynedd Mercy
Reasons for choosing Bloomsburg:  “The location and campus size.”
What was the progression that led you to playing collegiate baseball?  “The Big 26 Baseball Classic first got me college exposure. After that, colleges knew about me and wanted to watch me play more. Without the Big 26 Baseball Classic, I don’t know if I would be headed to play collegiate baseball.”
Coach Rick Penecale says:  “I’ve known Brett for a long time, and I’ve watched him develop into a very good shortstop. He was my leadoff hitter. Brett is blessed with great feet – he’s very quick. He’s a great athlete. He’s been part of our program for four years, and he’s been our starting shortstop for two years. He works hard and sets the bar high for everybody. If he were six inches taller, Division One schools would have been looking at him. I think he’s going to do very well in college. I think he’s just scratching the surface of his ability.”
About Brett:
Favorite food:
Barbeque Chicken
Favorite movie:  The Sandlot
Favorite music:  Country

Ben Zeitz – Penn State Abington (Baseball)
Major:
Design-Material Engineering
Final list of colleges:  Penn State Abington, Ursinus, Widener
Reasons for choosing Penn State Abington:  “They had the major of my choice.”
What was the progression that led you to playing collegiate baseball?  “Ever since I started playing baseball, I knew that I wanted to play in college. I progressed as an athlete by working when I had free time on refining my skills. It is something I plan to continue to do.”

Coach Rick Penecale says:  “I’ve had the opportunity to coach Ben his freshman and sophomore years on jayvee. I leaned on Ben a little bit this year. We had a very young and inexperienced team, and I asked Ben to take some of that leadership role and guide these guys through the season. It’s a tough league we play in, and some of these guys – I don’t think they understood what it takes to be in this league and be prepared every day. Ben was almost like a coach on the field. He was my go-through to the team, and he did very well in that leadership role. He’s really developed into a real solid baseball player, and I think he will do very well at Penn State Abington. He’s just a great kid, a pleasure to be around.”
