Brian Ehrlich – Lafayette University (Soccer)

Major:  Economics

Final list of schools:  Lafayette, Boston University, Dickinson

Reasons for choosing Lafayette:  “I like the small school atmosphere, and the soccer team was like a family.”

What was the progression that led you to playing soccer at the collegiate level?  “Ever since I was a young, it was a dream for me to play in college. A couple of years ago, I realized it could happen. I had a goalkeeper trainer, and he told me I could play in college. I just kept training, and eventually, it happened.”

Coach Kyle McGrath says:  “Brian was a quiet kid who stepped onto the varsity field as a sophomore on a playoff team. Over the years I coached him, he grew into a leader and was our starting goalkeeper for three years.  He was tested every game in our division and he stood tall in victory and defeat.  Goalkeeper can be an agonizing but rewarding position, and Brian embraced that role and kept his team in many games. He will certainly be missed next year.
“Off the field, Brian strives in the classroom.  He was a great example for the younger players in the program to look up to both on and off the field. I wish him the best of luck as he moves forward with the next phase of his life. I'm sure he will continue to improve and have a successful collegiate career.”
