Brittany Hubler – Kutztown University (Softball)

Major:  Elementary Special Education with a minor in Psychology

Final list of colleges:  Kutztown, Shippensburg, Millersville

Reasons for choosing Kutztown:  “I chose Kutztown because it had the best softball program and the best academic program for the major I wanted to go into.”

What was the progression that led you to competing in softball at the collegiate level?  “For me, it was going to showcases for softball and having the coaches show interest in me. When that happened, I was like, ‘All right, I really want to play now,’ and that was pretty much it.”

Coach Joe DiFilippo says:  “Brittany became my starting catcher halfway through her freshman year, and as a young kid, the leadership she displayed on the field was unreal. It makes it so much easier when you go to play a game and you know the other coaches are not going to even attempt to steal a base because her arm is phenomenal. Having Brittany behind the plate is like having another coach on the field. Just the example she sets for the younger kids makes the younger kids work harder. She’s carried a .450 batting average from when she started as a freshman. Sophomore year she was first team all-league, junior year she was first team all-league unanimous and second team all-state, and senior year – the sky’s the limit for the kid.”
