HH's Knudsen Commits to Compete in XC & Track at Lehigh

On Wednesday, April 26, 2016, Hatboro-Horsham senior Hannah Knudsen was recognized for committing to continue her cross country and track career at Lehigh University. Check back for a gallery of photos of the event.

Hannah Knudsen – Lehigh University (Cross Country/Track & Field)

Major:  Chemical Engineering

Final list of colleges:  Lehigh, Lafayette, Bucknell, Delaware

Reasons for choosing Lehigh:  “When I went on my official visit – we’ve always gone there for cross country meets and track meets, and when I walked on Goodman Campus, I just knew that’s where I wanted to spend the next four years.”

What was the progression that led you to competing in cross country and track at the collegiate level?  “My junior year one of my senior friends, Alyssa Quinn, was thinking about colleges, and I just realized – I don’t know what I’d do the next four years without running. I just wanted to continue on. I started looking at schools and contacting coaches. Today puts everything into perspective and makes it real. I’m so excited for the (Lehigh) family I’m about to join.”

Coach Anna Baker says:  “Hannah is just an all-around amazing person. She’s a hard worker, she’s dedicated, and she’s been a leader since her freshman year. She’s always stepping up, she’s always committed when the coach isn’t looking, and I think that’s what has made her so great.

“Not only is she putting in the hard work, she is just someone who wants to get to know everybody on a personal level, wants to make sure that everyone is happy. She’s a great role model. I’m really going to be sad to lose her. There’s hardly anybody that’s going to be able to fill her shoes.”
