Reilly Kratzke – McDaniel College (Lacrosse)

Major:  Undecided but possibly Communications

Final list of colleges:  McDaniel, York, Salisbury

Reasons for choosing McDaniel:  “When I visited, it just felt right – the atmosphere, the guys were all real cool, and the coaches were really welcoming. It just fit.”

What was the progression that led you to playing lacrosse at the collegiate level?  “It’s always been a dream of mine since I started getting serious about it around sixth or seventh grade. Watching people on TV really inspired me to think, ‘Wow, I could do that’”

Coach Matt Coverdale says: “Reilly has been a four-year letter winner at Central Bucks West. He came on the scene early and worked hard and was gifted with some great skill sets as even a freshman. As a sophomore, he really broke out and had a nice balanced season with 10 goals and 11 assists. In his junior year, he scored 20 goals and had 13 assists, and I think that was the season he really realized that he could be a serious threat to the opponent and really started to emerge as a player. His senior year he scored 30 goals and had 16 assists. Because he was gifted with the ability to shoot very well and dodge very well both with his left and his right, he was a versatile player who could play any position of the offense. He really grew in his senior year and emerged as a leader amongst his peers. He had a skill set that put him above his peers early on, and this year he embraced the fact that he must be a leader of all the players and that he needed to conduct himself as a leader and model to be followed and that he has to hold himself accountable first before anybody else. His maturation as a leader is just as valuable as his maturation as a player over the last several years.”
