Alex Krivda – Widener University (Football)

Major:  Undecided

Final list of colleges:  Widener, Pace, Ithaca

Reasons for choosing Widener:  “One of the things it came down to is it’s pretty close to home, so my parents can see me play. They run an offense that fits me. They throw the ball a lot, and it’s very fast paced. Playing at Pennridge, we have the best running back in the state, so I know my throws are going to be limited. As a quarterback, I always wanted to throw the ball a little bit more, and Widener’s run to pass – it’s probably more pass. Honestly, they’re going to win a lot of games, so I’m excited to be part of a winning program.”

What was the progression that led you to playing collegiate football?  “When I was around seven years old, I realized I wanted to play in college, and in ninth grade when I went to my first college camp and combine, I started competing against other kids and realizing it was possible.”

Coach Randy Cuthbert says:  “Alex did a great job for us. Offensively, he had the best season we have had in school history in terms of yards. He did a great job managing our offense, and he won a bunch of games for us that were close. We ran the ball a ton with Mike (Class), but when we needed him, he came through. He’s made a lot of progress his second year as a starter. He has all the tools – he’s big, he’s smart, and he has a good arm, and I think he’s at the right school. I think it’s a good fit for him. I think he’s going to play a lot of football there.”
