Ben LaRue – Arcadia University (Lacrosse)
Major:
Mass Communications
Final list of colleges:  Arcadia, York, Elizabethtown
Reasons for choosing Arcadia:  “The campus was beautiful. Everything was new or about to be refurbished. Everything about it just seemed nice, and I could assimilate well there.”
What was the progression that led you to playing collegiate lacrosse?  “At the end of my junior year, I realized I liked it more than I previously thought I did. I used to play football, and I thought I wanted to do that, but I wasn’t getting big enough. I was more suited to play lacrosse. I signed up for a lot of different camps over the summer, and I worked really hard lifting, conditioning, stickwork and all of that good stuff and also just playing a lot. I got better, I was seen, and that’s what happened.”
Coach Tom Walsh says:  “Ben plays defense. He’s an extremely hard worker. He’s a very influential leader on the field. He’s always been a ‘Yes, coach’ kind of guy and does what he can for the team. I’m sure he’s going to really blossom once he gets to Arcadia, and he’s going to really enjoy it.”

Reasons for choosing Gwynedd Mercy:  “I love the campus, and I wanted to stay closer to home.”
What was the progression that led you to playing collegiate lacrosse?  “At the start of last summer, I started thinking about it, which was good because I got some exposure playing club lacrosse in the summer and fall.”

Coach Tom Walsh says:  “Sean plays defense. He’s another guy who has been very important in our success this year. He’s definitely improved year after year, and I’m excited to see how he develops as a player going into college and how he can influence the team at Gwynedd Mercy. I’ve covered both Sean and Ben for four years, coming up through jayvee to varsity. I’m very pleased and excited to see how their college careers are going to turn out.”
