Ramsey McMenamin – St. Joseph University (Soccer)

Major:  Business

Final list of colleges:  St. Joe’s, Southeastern Louisiana

Reasons for choosing St. Joe’s:  “I felt like I really connected with the coach and the girls there when I went on my visit, and I just felt really comfortable. They were all easy to get along with, and it just felt like I was supposed to be there.”

What was the progression that led you to playing collegiate soccer?  “In my junior year, it really set in that if I wanted to play in college I would have to start working really hard. When my old (club) team got back together two years go, that was what we were all working towards.”

Coach Kathleen Lamplugh says:  “Ramsey was one of our central midfielders. She is the type of person who looks so effortless when she plays the game of soccer, yet she is working so hard every minute of the game. She has for the past four years logged a lot of minutes on the field, and she has been solely responsible for keeping things organized, controlling the most vulnerable part of the field. She’s something special. I feel like a lot of times forwards get all the glory because they score the goals, but Ramsey has set a lot of those up. A lot of times she would mark the most dangerous players on the other team.”
