Taylor Mysza – Philadelphia University (Soccer)
Major: Fashion Merchandising
Reasons for choosing Philadelphia University: “I actually was not going to play in college. My senior year in high school I was like, ‘I’m done playing after this season,’ and I didn’t go on a club team or anything. I was going to go to Texas Christian University, but the last minute the coach reached out to me and gave me a good offer, and I decided I wanted to play soccer. I love the school. It’s near Manayunk, so it’s really a nice area.”
What was the progression that led you to playing collegiate soccer: “All growing up, I thought I was bound to play soccer. I was convinced, and that’s when I played on recruiting teams. At the end of my junior year, I was like, ‘I don’t want to play anymore,’ but then I decided my life would be boring without it.”
Coach Paul Eishold says: “Taylor is very outgoing and easygoing and is very popular with both soccer players and friends. As a senior, she really took it upon herself to become a leader. She developed into a player that had a knack as an outside back to go forward, and one of her greatest strengths was her desire to put the ball on the net and score – this is coming from an outside left back. Her left foot is absolutely deadly and outstanding. I think the biggest thing I saw in Taylor was her grow in her desire to play soccer. I'm very excited for her. For some of us, soccer becomes a way of life, and I think Taylor has realized that could be a way of life for her, and she wants it to be part of her life.”
