Makayla Bowman – Kutztown University (Lacrosse)
Major:
Business Management
Final list of colleges: Kutztown, Marywood, Scranton
Reasons for choosing Kutztown:  “I chose Kutztown because it’s so close to home, and when I went and visited, I liked the coach, and the girls on the team were really welcoming.”
What was the progression that led you to playing collegiate lacrosse?  “I knew that I wanted to play in college going into my junior year. This past summer, it just started actually happening with the club summer tournaments.”
Former coach Jami Wilus Behm says:  “Makayla is an attacker for us. She’s a great student. I have her in Government class this year, so I know she’ll be a tremendous asset to both their lacrosse team and also in the classroom.”

Sydney Lear – Queen’s University of Charlotte (Lacrosse)
Major:
Communications
Final list of colleges:  Queen’s, University of Tampa, Catholic University, Rollins College (Fla.)
Reasons for choosing Queen’s:  “I liked the location a lot. That was probably number one for me. I also really like the coach. I love the idea of studying abroad, and they have a really good study abroad program.”
What was the progression that led you to playing collegiate lacrosse?  “I started the summer going into junior year. (Emily Schulze) and I play on the same club team together, and we went to the same tournaments where we saw a lot of coaches. That’s where we got most of our exposure. We would get e-mails, or if you were interested in a school, you would e-mail or reach out to them first. It basically continued all throughout junior year.”
Former coach Jami Wilus Behm says:  “Sydney is an excellent attacker. When she came in, her number one thing about a school was for it to be warm and near a beach, so we started eliminating a lot of schools in the northeast region. I think she picked a perfect school for her, and she’ll be very successful.”

Favorite movie:  The Fugitive
Favorite music:  Dave Matthews Band

Emily Schulze – La Salle University (Lacrosse)
Major:
Early Education/Special Ed
Final list of colleges:  La Salle, JMU, Temple, George Mason, Penn State
Reasons for choosing La Salle:  “I chose La Salle because it was close to my family, and they have a really good education program which I want to go into. I also fell in love with the coach when I walked onto the campus, and the team I just loved. I loved the whole atmosphere at La Salle.”
What was the progression that led you to playing lacrosse at the collegiate level?  “At the end of my sophomore year, I started the whole recruiting process, which is really early but lacrosse is really early. I had help from coach Wilus. I was on a club team that helped me do all the recruiting stuff. It was nice having someone lead me and help me get to where I’m going.”
Former coach Jami Wilus Behm says:  “Emily is going to be a four-year starter. She’s a great midfielder. I remember talking to her when she came in as a sophomore and was looking at a bunch of different schools. It’s ironic that she ended up at La Salle because I think that was probably the last on her list to start. I thought she’d be a great fit there. She’s going to do great things.”
