Elizabeth Koerper – Wagner College (Water Polo)

Major: Business

Final list of colleges: Wagner, Villanova, Bucknell

Reasons for choosing Wagner: “I chose Wagner because I knew the opportunities I would get playing water polo would be really good. Wagner is in New York, so majoring in business, I knew that would be a really good opportunity for me.”

Favorite water polo memory: “One of my special memories is definitely how successful North Penn water polo has been. In my high school career, we’ve made it to the state finals four years in a row, and we won three of the four. It’s really special how successful we can be as a team.”

Most important thing learned at North Penn: “North Penn water polo has taught me a really hard work ethic and a true love for the sport. I really learned a lot from my coaches and all my teammates to love the sport and what it really means to me.”

Coach Jason Grubb says: “Lizzy is a four-year letter winner for us. She’s a two-year starter and has been a major contributor to three state championships. Her leadership and play this year brought us back to another state championship. She is signing with one of the premier East Coast teams. They’re one of the top teams in the country, so she’s going to go to a college that is an international-based team. The competition is extremely high, and I’m extremely excited to see her play at that level.

“On a personal note, she is also signing in the same conference as her sister. I’m a water polo referee, so there’s a very good chance within the next two years I’ll get to officiate a Koerper versus Koerper matchup with the two girls playing against each other, so I’m extremely excited about that. Best of luck, Lizzy. Congratulations.”
