Madaline Rinker – Shippensburg University (Lacrosse)

Major:  Business

Final list of colleges:  Shippensburg, Bloomsburg, Kutztown

Reasons for choosing Shippensburg: “I chose Shippensburg because I felt like their business program there would fit me the best. When I was there with the team, it just felt like home.”

What was the progression that led you to competing in lacrosse at the collegiate level?  “I knew since my older sister went to college for water polo that I wanted to continue playing in college.”

Coach Heather Mellow says:  “I didn’t have the luxury of finding Maddie until she was an eighth grader at camp. Maddie is a great kid, a fantastic kid. I wish I could duplicate her and have many of her on my team. She is just a positive player both on and off the field. She gives it her all in practice and in games. She was a quiet leader for us, but she was a very good leader. She was the captain of our jayvee team. She’s a strong defender for us. We look forward to seeing what she can do for us this year at the varsity level. We’re so excited that she’s going to be able to continue playing at the collegiate level at Shippensburg University.”
