Mike Liddy – Bloomsburg University (Football)
Major: Accounting or Finance
Final list of colleges: Bloomsburg, Clarion, Villanova, Shippensburg
Reasons for choosing Bloomsburg: “I went up on my visit, and I was kind of thinking it was a back-up school – I don’t really want to go here, and then I met the players on the team and the atmosphere at Bloomsburg, and I really enjoyed it.”
What was the progression that led you to playing collegiate football? “After my junior year, I never really thought that I was going to play college football. When all these schools started to come and talk to us and said, ‘We watched your film,’ it started getting me interested in considering playing college football. From then on, I made my decision that I wanted to play the game that I love.”
Coach Dick Beck says: “Mike was probably the best athlete on our team last year as a senior. He could play multiple positions. He could probably play wide receiver at Bloomsburg if they needed him. Colleges nowadays when they’re recruiting athletes are looking for #1 durability and #2 they want (athletes) to be versatile. They don’t want to be pigeon-holed, and especially with Mike, he can be the guy that can answer a lot of questions for you.”

Frank Tranzilli – West Chester University (Football)
Major: Economics or Business Management
Final list of colleges: West Chester, Wagner, Bryant, Kutztown
Reasons for choosing West Chester: “It was down to a few 1AA schools and West Chester and few other PSAC schools. I feel like West Chester was the best fit for me. I got on campus, and there was a few North Penn guys there. Just picking their brains and talking to them – they really made it seem like another North Penn, and I love it here – football-wise and school, so another North Penn, to me, would be a perfect place to go.”
What was the progression that led you to playing collegiate football? “I started thinking about it when I started playing high school football because I knew if I could take it to the collegiate level I could ultimately get an education with it too. I thought that was important – I could go to a good school and play football.”
Coach Dick Beck says: “Frank’s been a three-year starter. Coming in the door as a sophomore, right away Frank was a starter on the offensive line. He’s been a tremendous leader for us. To be a three-year starter for us is a big deal. He was first team all-league as a junior. He’s never missed a game due to injury. To be honest, I can’t remember him ever missing a practice for an injury or anything. He’s been extremely durable, a lead-by-example first on and off the field. He’s great in the building. I couldn’t be more proud.”
