On Monday, April 25, 2022, Pennridge seniors Kieran Banks and Alex Mathewson were recognized for committing to continue their lacrosse careers at the collegiate level.
Kieran Banks – Stevenson University (Lacrosse)
Major: Business
Reasons for choosing Stevenson: “Great location filled with a strong team of leaders in a supportive community where I can 
grow as a player/student/person.”
What was the progression that led you to competing in lacrosse at the collegiate level? “I always grew up around lacrosse, so it was always a part of something that I wanted to do. It wasn’t really until more recently in the high school era that I was like - this is a sport I’m really falling in love with and something I really want to play in college. That’s where the real desire that I have now and the passion I have for lacrosse came from.”
Coach Chris Pianko says: “Kieran was a two-year starter for us in goal as well as a captain his senior year. We always expected a lot of him, and he always delivered. He was the definitive leader both on and off of the lacrosse field and the type of person everyone would want to have on their team. In the last two years as the starter, Kieran kept us in games we should not have been in and helped us win some games we should not have won. Kieran will be missed greatly, and we wish him nothing but the best, as he moves onto the next phase in his lacrosse career.”

Reasons for choosing St. Vincent: “I was accepted onto the team and offered great academics.”
Coach Chris Pianko says: “Alex was a fierce competitor and always brought a fiery intensity when he played. Alex was consistent in his approach to the game and because of this was a role model and leader to some of the younger players on the team. The improvement Alex has made through the four years with the program are a great example to everyone on the team. His progress shows the possibility to continue your lacrosse career into college, as long as you are willing to put in the work to do so. We wish Alex luck as he moved onto the next phase in his lacrosse career.”
