On Monday, April 25, 2022, Pennridge seniors Kaelyn Casper, Kacie Leight and Katie Loughran were recognized for committing to compete in field hockey at the collegiate level.
Kaelyn Casper – Nichols College (Field Hockey)
Major: Sports Management
Final list of colleges: Nichols, Arcadia, West Chester, Alvernia, Albright
Reasons for choosing Nichols: “I liked the coach, the area and the school.”
Coach Becky Spahr says: “Kaelyn has worked super hard for four years to get where she is. She’s a captain, and she’s a forward/midfielder and was a three-year starter. On the field, off the field, her fitness, everything – she’s dedicated a lot of time to hockey. I’m super impressed with her growth, and I’m real excited to see what she does at Nichols.”

Kacie Leight – Juniata College (Field Hockey)
Major: MBA in Business
Final list of colleges: Juniata, Goucher, Susquehanna
Reasons for choosing Juniata: “It allowed me to pursue my field hockey career with an encouraging and supporting team while also being able to study abroad. Juniata gives me opportunities not given at other colleges.”
Coach Becky Spahr says: “Kacie Leight is a defender and played some midfield for us as well. She’s a really good leader. She makes really good friends and helps them to work hard and do the best they can.”

Katie Loughran – Lycoming College (Field Hockey)
Major: Elementary Education
Final list of colleges: Lycoming, Arcadia, Gwynedd Mercy
Reasons for choosing Lycoming: “They have a good education program, I loved the school – it felt like home, and I wanted to be part of a brand new team.”
Coach Becky Spahr says: “Katie Loughran was a defender for us, and she’ll be going to Lycoming. This is Lycoming’s first year having field hockey, and she’s the perfect person to set your team around because she is a great teammate and always puts the team before herself, she’s a really good leader, and she’ll work hard all the time. She’s a three-sport athlete, so it will be really fun to see her focus on hockey and really grow in her time at Lycoming.
