Pennridge's Allard & Schwind to Cheer at Collegiate Level

On Thursday, May 24, 2018, Pennridge seniors Georgia Allard and Maura Schwind were recognized for committing to continue their cheerleading careers at the collegiate level. Check back for photos of the event.

“I’m very, very proud of both of these girls,” coach Linda Loeffler said. “They’re here because they deserve to be here and they’ve earned it.”

Georgia Allard – University of Delaware (Cheerleading)
Major:
Undecided (possibly Marketing)
Final list of colleges:  Delaware, Rutgers, Penn State, Morehead State University
Reasons for choosing Delaware:  “I wanted a big school that had a lot of opportunities, and I wanted to cheer for a nationally-ranked cheer team. I also wanted a school with good academics.
“I’ve always known I’ve wanted to go to UD. It feels like home and the cheer program and academics are equally great. I received scholarships from Delaware, and it’s a good distance from home.”
Athletic achievements:  Most Improved Award, MVP Award, Leadership Award, Winter Scholar-Athlete, Captain of Pennridge Program
Coach Linda Loeffler says:  “I’ve coached Georgia since fourth grade, all through SASH and Pennridge. She is an amazing cheerleader and amazing scholar. She was our scholar-athlete. Everything she does, she does to the best of her ability, but she is very humble, very quiet. She was our team captain, and she leads our team by example. She is one who doesn’t give a lot of orders or tells kids what to do, but what she does do is show them by how she acts and reacts. She is an amazing athlete that has really pushed herself to be at the very top of what she does.”

Maura Schwind – University of West Georgia (Cheerleading)
Major:
Psychology
Final list of colleges:  West Georgia, Delaware, Penn State
Reasons for choosing West Georgia:  “It has a great cheerleading program, the weather and the campus. I received a scholarship, and they also are known for their psych program.”
Athletic achievements:  PCL Champions 2016, Second in the State 2017, Sixth in the Nation 2018, District Champs 2017
Coach Linda Loeffler says:  “I’ve been coaching Maura since she was in fourth grade – for nine years. She’s an amazing athlete who’s driven, she’s strong, and she’s a leader. Maura is a person who pushes herself to be the best so her team can be the best – okay is never good enough. When she feels there’s a need within the team, she works hard to help her teammates to fill that need, hence making a great team.”
