On Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2023, Pennridge senior Dominic Galante was recognized for committing to continue his track career at St. Francis University.

Reasons for choosing St. Francis: “I felt academically and athletically it was a good fit. I loved the campus and the facilities. Overall, it felt like home.”
What was the progression that led you to competing in track at the collegiate level? “Actually, my freshman and sophomore year, I started playing basketball, and that’s what I originally wanted to go to college for, but then I started doing outdoor track my junior year and gave up basketball. I would say I started progressing junior year, and my senior summer, I worked really hard. I wanted to improve on my times and just my overall progression.”
Coach Joshua Pinkney says: “What can I not say about Dominic Galante? He is just an absolutely great kid that every day is constantly working hard, comes to every practice, doesn’t miss anything and is always dedicated. This is my first year coaching, and since day one, I’ve learned to find different kids who I can trust, who I can get to know, and he was one of the first kids I saw. He went to both the parent-coaches meeting and the athletes meeting, and he talked to us coaches. He was very excited to run, and every day he’s been a dedicated runner, dedicated athlete and dedicated person to the captain role who will make sure he can be there for everybody on the team. When people are down or hurt, he will be there to make sure people know he’s there for them, and he’ll talk to them. He’s a very, very fast athlete that I’m glad that I’ve trained and helped over the past few months. I’m very, very excited for him for the next part of his journey and wish him the best of luck and that he’ll do great things in the future.”
