Pennridge's Gula to Run at Loyola Maryland

On Friday, Dec. 22, 2023, Pennrige senior Veronica Gula was recognized for committing to continue her cross country/track career at Loyola University Maryland.

Veronica Gula – Loyola University Maryland (Cross Country/Track)

Major: Biology

Final list of colleges: Loyola, Rutgers, Richmond, Virginia Tech

Reasons for choosing Loyola: “I chose Loyola because I felt the most supported by the administration and coaching staff.”

Coach Bill Smith says: “Veronica is a new athlete at Pennridge. She transferred in. She was a successful cross country and track runner elsewhere. She came in and became instantly a great lift to the Pennridge cross country team. She was a leader. She also was juggling going to Bucks County Community College and taking a couple courses here at Pennridge High School, so she was a busy person. She’s very intelligent, a very strong leader for the team with a great work ethic. She’s very talented and was a piece that was missing from the team and helped the team make it to the state cross country meet as a team. She’s a very fine person and was just a great addition to the team. She made friends very quickly and was inspirational in her leadership and trying to push people to performing better and at a higher clip.”
