Michael DeZutel – Holy Family University (Lacrosse)

Major: Business

Final list of colleges: Holy Family, Mitchell College, Lindenwood University

Reasons for choosing Holy Family: “I chose Holy Family because it’s a new program – next year is the first year. Also, it’s close to home.”

What was the progression that led you to competing in lacrosse at the collegiate level? “I didn’t always know I was going to play in college. I made the decision right before my junior year. I decided it would be best for me.”

Coach Dean Curtis says: “Michael is the brother of a player who has already signed a letter of intent, and he’s playing in college now, so he’s always been in his shadow, but he’s emerged since his brother graduated two years ago. Mike is a great midfielder. In lacrosse, we call them table setters - you need somebody to get the offense started, and Mike is that guy. Mike can take anybody to the goal and either score or find his teammates to set up our offense. He’s the cornerstone of our offense and has a tremendous amount of upside in terms of what he’s capable of in college. I don’t want to say he’s a late bloomer because he’s been on our varsity team since his freshman year, but he’s consistently improving from year to year.”
