On Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2023, Pennsbury senior Nathan Knapp was recognized for committing to play volleyball at the collegiate level.

Nathan Knapp – Merrimack College (Volleyball)

Major: Undecided

Final list of colleges:  Merrimack, Rutgers-Newark

Reasons for choosing Merrimack: “I really liked the environment, I loved the coach and just the team overall.”

What was the progression that led you to competing in volleyball at the collegiate level? “When I was a freshman and sophomore, I wasn’t planning on going to college. I really just fell in love with the sport junior year. I played club for the first time, and from there on, I decided I wanted to play in college, and it ended up working out and I committed.”

Coach Justin Fee says: “Physically, Nathan is probably one of the most gifted athletes we’ve had in terms of jumping ability and some of the other physical attributes that you can measure on the volleyball court. He’s going to be a force for us – he’s going to be like the old Pennsbury greats that would get the ball over and over and over again and really carry our team. He’s a good leader for us as well. A lot of the kids look up to him and respect him. He’s really a lead by example kind of player. His physical dominance is going to be awesome to see.”
