Sheehan Miles – Lincoln University (Football)

Major:  Undecided

Final list of colleges:  Lincoln, East Stroudsburg, Washington & Jefferson

Reasons for choosing Lincoln:  “The coach DM’ed me on Twitter. He said he saw my highlights, and it pretty much rolled from there. When I went to Lincoln (for a visit), it just really gave me a family vibe, and that’s something I want to be part of.”

What was the progression that led you to competing in football at the collegiate level?  “Ever since I started playing as a kid, I’ve always wanted to play in college, so it’s been a dream. Even playing in high school was a dream. It became a reality once the coaches started inviting me to their schools.”

Coach Dan McShane says:  “A lot of our receivers came out of nowhere for us. Kids are getting more familiar with how we play and the position. Over the years, we were very successful with no wide receivers, and now we have three and four. Everybody has had a learning curve, and Sheehan was part of that. He’s got the body, for sure. I like to call him a high school Julio Jones. He’s big and strong, he loves contact. I’m yelling at him to get out of bounds, and he runs guys over or straight arms guys. He’s a real physical wide receiver, he’s a big target. His junior year we saw the potential. I think he’s got a tremendous upside. He’s just been playing the game three years.
“When the recruiters were coming in, I said, ‘You’ve got to take a look at this kid.’ Obviously, he had a lot of catches, big catches. His size and competitiveness - he soaks it up. It’s a pretty complicated position to learn how to play, and he was a real coachable kid. Over the years, we’ve sent some pretty good receivers to colleges, and he reminds me of some of them. We had Lewis Vincent at Bensalem, who had a great career at Del Val. Sheehan can catch deep balls, he catches balls in traffic, he’s got really good hands, and he even blocks. We had plays on our play chart designed just for Sheehan – they’re Sheehan plays. You’ve got to get your best players the ball.”
