Reasons for choosing Penn State: “I really liked the coaches, and they have really nice facilities. The golf course is right there, and it’s Penn State’s own golf course. Some places you have to drive a half hour to get to their course. I liked the fact that it was close to home, and I could come home if I wanted to.”
What was the progression that led you to competing in golf at the collegiate level? “I started thinking about it since I started playing in the Junior Golf Tournaments probably around seventh grade.”
Coach Glenn Goldsborough says: “She’s constantly out there working, whether it’s a nice day or a cold day. She’s always trying to improve. I hold her up as one of the examples on the team for her short game and putting. I don’t see her hitting balls on the range very much anymore. She’s working on her short game, and that is where you save your strokes and get a lot better.
“Just having other players play with her – they always wanted to play with her. I always said, ‘Do you want to play with Jackie?’ ‘Yeah.’ ‘Why?’ ‘It makes me play better.’ That’s a valuable asset to have on the team, and they all say playing with her makes them play smarter and better.”`
