On Thursday, March 4, 2021, Pennsbury senior Kayli Williams was recognized for committing to continue her track career at Georgia State University.

Final list of colleges: Georgia State, Cornell
Reasons for choosing Georgia State: “The campus is so beautiful, and the weather, for sure. I’m tired of being cold in Pennsylvania. The team atmosphere seemed really good, and I really bonded with the coach. Relationships with coaches, to me, are the most important because it’s someone I’m going to put my trust in to train me.”
What was the progression that led you to competing in track at the collegiate level? “I started running in seventh grade, and in eighth grade, my mom and I were like, ‘Maybe we 
should join a club, we’re kind of good at this.’ It was really my freshman year when I got good coaching and I really focused on track that I saw a way for me to go somewhere with it. Sophomore year once I made it to states and placed in states my sophomore year outdoor, I realized, ‘Well, no more field hockey. It’s time to get my life together and focus on track for real.’”
Coach Wayne Demore says: “Kayli is predominantly a sprinter, but her strength is in the hurdles so 60-meter hurdles, and outdoors she will run 100-meter hurdles. Her drive is what stands out to me the most. From the very first day she was here as a ninth grader, she had this determination to be the best. Ninth grade we don’t always know for sure what we have talent-wise, but she grew, she developed and she worked. Her work rate was through the roof, and she really got good and developed into a fantastic hurdler, a really good sprinter and point scorer for us. Obviously, today we’ll celebrate that.
“Kayli is very well rounded. She’s also a very good field hockey player and earned first team all-league last fall. She’s a good student, she’s in all honors classes. She’s equally as driven in the classroom as she is on the track.”
