Jake Kelly – Wesley College (Lacrosse)

Major:  Undecided

Final list of colleges:  Wesley, Penn Tech, Temple, Montco

Reasons for choosing Wesley:  “Just the great support they’re going to have for me education-wise. I get to play lacrosse, a sport I love, and the people around there are just great – the team members are great.”

What was the progression that led you to competing in lacrosse at the collegiate level?  “Early sixth grade, I was playing summer ball for an elite team, and they always said, ‘If you keep trying, you can go to college and play.’ That’s really what sparked my interest to try and play in college.”

Coach Bryan Gregg says:  “Jake has worked really hard. His dad is one of our assistant coaches – he’s our jayvee coach, so he comes from a family with a history in lacrosse. He’s played it a long time. He really came on the last two years and has been a huge asset for us.
“He just does a really good job of getting himself free, getting his hands free and getting shots off. He just finds a way of always creating space around the cage, and it’s a huge asset. We feed the crease a lot and give him a lot of opportunities to score.”
